Finishing Tips and Tricks Swatch Class
Tuesday September 7, 2010 6-8pm
Do you enjoy knitting but hate sewing up the seams?  Have you invested time in knitting a sweater and then been unhappy with the finishing? Learn to complete your projects like the pros. This workshop will cover Kitchener sttich, invisible seam on the "right side of garment, triple needle bind off, and how to create a seamless garment using a traditional pattern and straight needles, circulars or dpns.  You will be learning these techniques using swatches.This class requires homework in preparation for class.  $35.00

This class teaches the same techniques as the swatch class, but with your unfinished sweater pieces. Learn to complete your projects like the pros. Crayon Box Sweater Class
Mondays Sept. 13, 27 and Oct 18, 2010 6-8pm
OR
Wednesdays Sept. 8, 22, & Oct. 13, 2010 9-11 am
   
This is a great stash-busting project! This sweater uses almost ANY yarn you have on hand,even novelty and eyelash, and you can use up small amounts. Leftover sock yarns as well as worsted weight yarn are good-the more, the merrier! The three-part class is $50.00 plus materials Note: The dates for this 3-part class will be Sept. 8, 22, & Oct. 13. They are 2 weeks apart for the 1st & 2nd class, with the last class 3 weeks after the 2nd. This will give you time to work on the sweater between classes.  Crayon Box Jacket pattern will be available in adult sizes small thru 5X Child size pattern comes in chest size 28", 32" and 36"  Avoid chunky and bulky yarns. Combine lightweight or sock yarns with other yarns for the right gauge. Yes - you can bring your own yarn!

 

Absolute Beginners
Tuesday Evening 6-7:30 pm September 21 (pt 2 on Oct 5)
OR
Thursday Morning 9:30-11am September 23 (pt 2 on Oct 7)

In this two part class you will learn the basic skills needed to make a scarf, including cast on, knit stitch, and bind off.  You'll also learn about needles, gauge, and how to select the right yarn for your project.  Part 2 of the class is included in class fee and is held 2 weeks after first class.  $25.00 plus materials  

Child's Andean Hat

Sunday Sept. 12, 2010 9-11am
OR
Monday Sept. 20, 2010 6-8pm
 
This is an introduction to the Portuguese Style of Knitting, a technique made popular by Andrea Wong. This technique will make color stranding very easy and guarantees a loose float on your two color knitting. You must be familiar with the purl stitch before taking this class. Experience knitting in the round is helpful, but not necessary. $40.00 includes yarn and pattern for class.

 

Braid & Bobble Hat Class
Saturday September 18, 2010 6-8pm

Learn the in's and out's of cables while making this stylish knit hat. It features a variety of basic cable designs, plus bobbles, making it a great first-time cable project. This is a 2-part class, and homework is required between each class. Part 2 will be held on Oct. 2. Must be able to knit and purl, cast on and bind off before taking this class. Previous experience with double pointed needles is recommended. $35.00 plus materials.

 


Circular Hat Class
Friday September 24, 2010 6-8pm

This class will make you comfortable using a circular needle and double points to make a seamless hat.  You can choose to make your hat with a rolled brim or ribbed, and you have the option of making a "helix" hat in two or more colors. $25.00 plus materials 

 

 
Fit Your Foot Toe Up
Sock Class
September 25, 2010 9-11am
Tired of socks that don't fit? In this 2 part class you will learn the Turkish Cast On, Magic Loop and a stretchy bind-off to make this pair of socks the most comfortable you have ever made. This class is based on Cat Bordhi's book "Sock Knitting for Insouciant Sock Knitters", using the "personal footprint". Part 2 of this class is included in class fee and will be held on October 9, 2010 9-11am  $35.00 plus materials

If a class becomes full you may go on a waiting list

To reserve your spot you may pre-pay your class enrollment with credit card, check or cash

Class Materials Discount
10% discount on class materials

Class cancellations
Classes cancelled due to poor weather conditions will be rescheduled

Refunds
Refunds will be issued up until 1 week prior to scheduled class
If we must cancel a class you will receive a full refund.
